Hello and welcome to my village! I’m Ashley the creative buzzing bee behind The Village Hive and I am thrilled that you are here! The Village Hive was created to capture and share the memories we are making with our family, three children, and village of amazing and supportive friends. I am a multi-tasking mom, dedicated wife, Office Manager at a local small business, and our family’s social coordinator/organizer. I believe that little things in life can make it magical and with a passion for celebrating I want to inspire your village to celebrate life’s little moments.
The Village Hive focuses on making life long memories, one small creative idea at a time. Here you will find DIY projects, recipes, and party tips. Most of which can be done quickly, easily, and on a budget, so you have more time and energy to create memorable occasions filled with love and laughter within your own village.
I have been married to my handsome husband, who is my biggest fan, for 8 years. We have three beautiful, crazy kids; a 10 year old son, and two daughters ages 7 and 5 years old. Add a giant golden doodle dog who doesn’t understand personal space, and a very obese cat and you can imagine my world is pretty hectic! My family is what drives me in this life. Spending time with them creating memories is what I love most in this world.
Other things I love include:
- Entertaining. I love planning parties, big or small. Filling our home with good food, great friends, and laughter.
- Traveling. Whether it is a short road trip or a flight across the country I love traveling and experiencing new foods and adventures.
- Baking. It reminds me of my grandmother and I think it’s impossible to be unhappy when you are dusted in flour and sugar.
- Making lists. I make lists for everything! And they must be printed or written out-there is something so satisfying about being able to cross things off my list as I finish them.
- Thrift store shopping. I love hunting for treasures in local thrift stores. I have been known to go to several in a day and spend hours scouring the isles for things I might need, but just don’t know it yet!
Things I DON’T love include: Tornados, pickles, and my food touching (and yes Grandpa I still know “it all goes to the same place” but I just can’t do it!)
There you have it, now you know a little bit more about me and what makes me tick. I love meeting new people, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected].
